Consett Academy Applauds Students for GCSE Achievements

Consett Academy is thrilled to celebrate the achievements of its Year 11 students.

Headteacher Mr Tom Urwin shared his congratulations:
"This is more than a celebration of grades—it's a celebration of growth and the power of community. Our students have shown incredible determination, and today we honour their success."

Key achievements include:

  • - An increase of 5.6% in students achieving 9-5 in English & Maths
  • - An increase of 5.8% in students achieving 9-4 in English & Maths
  • - 1% of students achieving 9-5 English
  • - 9% of students achieving 9-4 English
  • - An increase of 6% in students achieving 9-5 in Maths
  • - An increase of 8.4% in students achieving 9-4 in Maths
  • - An increase of 6.6% in students achieving strong passes in Science
  • - An increase of 4.2% in students achieving standard passes in Science
  • - An increase of 5.7% in students achieving 9-4 in Combined Science
  • - An increase of 7.8% in students achieving 9-5 in Combined Science
  • - 40 Grade 9’s
  • - 6 L2 Distinction*
  • - 52 L2 Distinction
