Beamish Primary School

Beamish Primary School is located in the small village of No Place near the town of Stanley and is approximately 7 miles from the historic city of Durham. The school is a smaller than average primary school with a nursery offering 15- and 30-hour places for 2, 3 and 4-year-old pupils.

Beamish Primary School is federated with Pelton Community Primary as part of the Beamish and Pelton Federation. Schools in the Beamish and Pelton Federation aim to raise aspirations so that children know that if they believe, they really can achieve. We provide an exciting and enjoyable curriculum and we want our pupils to have as many experiences as possible during their time with us. We are lucky to have a large school field and have our own extensive woodland area. We have a strong focus on outdoor learning and we are dedicated to providing an enriching and supportive environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe in nurturing the whole child and encouraging our children to explore their interests and passions and achieving excellence.

Our thoughtful, hardworking and supportive staff ensure our children are at the centre of everything we do. We offer a very caring and nurturing environment where staff have high expectations of both learning and progress. Staff inspire and challenge pupils to reach their full potential, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in an ever-changing world. The staff are passionate about inspiring curiosity, cultivating critical thinking skills, and nurturing a love for learning in every pupil. We believe in fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and collaboration, where diversity is celebrated, and every voice is heard. We are also committed to fostering a strong partnership with parents, guardians, and the wider community. We believe that education is a shared responsibility, and we encourage parents to be actively involved in their child’s education.
